If you sat for the Holy Cross selection test this month, the next three days decide everything. This guide walks you through result day hour by hour — what to keep ready, how to read the PDF, and the one mistake that costs girls their seat every single year.

First, Understand How Holy Cross Selects Students

Unlike most colleges, Holy Cross College does not take students from the government’s central lottery. With permission from the Education Ministry, HCC holds its own written selection test, and the final list is prepared from two things combined:

SSC GPA + Selection test marks = Final merit position

There is no viva, no second round of interviews and no quota-based bargaining. Your written paper on 10 or 11 September has already been marked, and the merit order is fixed. Nothing you do now changes the list — but plenty can go wrong in how you claim your seat.

Result Day: A Simple Timeline

Before 1:00 PM on 15 September Keep three things on the table: your Application ID number, your printed permit slip, and a phone or laptop with a working PDF reader. Charge your device and, if possible, keep bKash cash-in ready.

1:00 PM onwards HCC uploads the group-wise result PDFs. The college website gets extremely heavy at this hour. Instead of refreshing hcc.edu.bd again and again, download the same PDF from the table below — it is hosted on our own server and opens instantly.

Within minutes of seeing your ID If your Application ID appears in the list, do not celebrate and close the tab. Move directly to the fee payment step. The payment window opens at 4:00 PM the same day.

Before 12:00 PM on 17 September Finish the online admission fee payment through bKash. Miss it, and the selection is treated as cancelled.

Finding Your ID Inside the PDF

The list runs over many pages and is arranged by Application ID, not by name or alphabetical order. Scrolling by eye is a waste of time. Do this instead:

  • On a laptop: open the PDF, press Ctrl + F, type your Application ID, press Enter.
  • On Android: open the file in Google Drive or Adobe Acrobat, tap the magnifier icon, type the ID.
  • On iPhone: open in Files or Books, tap the search icon, type the ID.

Type the ID exactly as printed on your permit slip — no extra spaces, no missing digits. If the search shows nothing, check the file again; you may have opened the PDF of a different group.

Selected? Here Is How You Lock the Seat

This is where most confusion happens, so read it carefully.

  1. The result list gives you a provisional place, not admission.
  2. Payment opens at 4:00 PM on 15 September and closes at 12:00 PM on 17 September.
  3. Pay the admission fee online through bKash, as instructed in the notice.
  4. Save the payment confirmation and keep it with your printed permit slip for all later formalities.

If the money is not paid inside that window, the college cancels the selection and calls the next candidate. Do not plan to pay on the final morning — bKash queues and server load on 17 September are always the worst.

Not Selected? Three Things to Do Right Now

Missing the HCC list is not the end of your college admission.

1. Watch for the waiting list / second call. When selected students fail to pay in time, Holy Cross fills those seats from the next candidates and publishes a notice on the website and notice board. Keep checking through the week.

2. Fall back on the central admission system. The government’s XI class admission for 2026-27 runs separately, and its own result is published on 17 September at 8:00 PM. If you applied there as well, you may already have a seat waiting in a good college — see XI Class Admission Result 2026 for the checking process and the confirmation deadline.

3. Keep an eye on the other own-test colleges. Notre Dame held its written test on the same two days and publishes its list separately; you can follow it on our Notre Dame College Admission Result 2026 page.

Seats Available This Year

Holy Cross is taking 1,350 students into Class XI for the 2026-27 session:

  • Science — 780 seats
  • Humanities — 290 seats
  • Business Studies — 280 seats

Science takes more than half the intake, which is why the cut-off there is decided almost entirely by the written paper — nearly every applicant already has GPA 5.00.

Who Was Eligible to Apply

GroupGPA range
ScienceGPA 5.00, with Higher Mathematics and Biology in SSC
Business StudiesGPA 4.00 to 5.00
HumanitiesGPA 3.00 to 5.00

Students from Science or Business Studies with GPA 4.00 and above could apply for Humanities, and Science students with GPA 4.25 and above could apply for Business Studies.

The Rules You Agreed To When You Applied

Holy Cross is strict, and the 2026-27 circular put its conditions in writing. If you are selected, these apply to you from day one:

  • No married students. The college asked married candidates not to apply, and a student who marries during the session is given a Transfer Certificate.
  • Full attendance in both theory and practical classes.
  • College uniform at all times.
  • Compulsory participation in physical education and co-curricular activities.
  • No mobile phones on the campus — carrying or using one is not allowed.

These are not suggestions. Students have been asked to withdraw over them in past sessions.

What Was on the Selection Test

For readers preparing for next year, the paper followed the SSC 2026 syllabus:

  • Science: Bangla, English, Physics, Chemistry, Higher Mathematics, Biology, General Knowledge
  • Business Studies: Bangla, English, General Mathematics, Accounting, Finance & Banking, Business Entrepreneurship, General Knowledge
  • Humanities: Bangla, English, General Mathematics, Geography, Civics, Economics, History, General Knowledge

Application in the 2026-27 round ran from 2 to 5 September with a Tk 500 bKash payment, and the permit slip became downloadable 5 to 10 minutes after the payment went through.

Will I get the result by SMS?

No. HCC publishes PDF lists only. Search for your Application ID inside the file.

What time exactly does it come out?

After 1:00 PM on 15 September 2026. The college publishes on its website, Facebook page and notice board at the same time.

I lost my permit slip. Can I still find my result?

You need the Application ID printed on it. Check the confirmation you received when you applied, or contact the college office before result day — do not leave it until 15 September.

Can I pay the admission fee at the college counter instead?

The notice specifies online payment through bKash within the given window.

Is this result connected to xiclassadmission.gov.bd?

No. Holy Cross runs a separate process. The central result for the 2026-27 session comes on 17 September at 8:00 PM and is a different list altogether — the full schedule is on our XI Class Admission Result 2026 page.
