HSC Admission 2026-2027

  • SSC Passed Students: 16+ Lakh
  • XI Applicants (1st Phase): 11 Lakh+
  • Colleges: All Govt & Major Private
  • Education Boards: 11 Boards
  • You Can Choose Up to 10 College

Passing the SSC examination is a proud milestone. But the real challenge starts right after. Students are trying to get Class XI (HSC) admission in their preferred colleges, but seats are limited. Students should take note of the marks they have secured while applying. A student with GPA-5 will be dropped if he/she applies to five designated colleges. Even getting GPA-5 will not help. So one should be aware of these things for admission.

For many families, this process feels overwhelming: confusing HSC circulars, tight deadlines, multiple payment steps, and the anxiety of waiting for merit list results. This guide is written to change that. Whether you are a student who just received your SSC result or a parent trying to understand how the admission system works, this article covers everything you need — from the basics of the XI Class admission system to the final migration process — in one place, in plain English.

xiclass.bd is dedicated to making the XI Class admission process 2026 -2027 simple, transparent, and stress-free for every student in Bangladesh.

একাদশ শ্রেণির কলেজ ভর্তি ২০২৬

XI Class admission is the official process through which SSC graduates gain entry into Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) programs at colleges across Bangladesh. After completing two years of HSC (Class XI and Class XII), students appear in the HSC public examination — one of the most important academic milestones in the country.

The entire process is managed by the DSHE, under the Ministry of Education, Bangladesh. All applications, seat allocations, and result publications are handled through the official centralized portal: xiclassadmission.gov.bd

HSC Admission Eligibility & Requirements

The student must have successfully passed SSC, Dakhil (Madrasa Board), or SSC Vocational from a recognized board in Bangladesh. Typically, students who passed SSC in the current year and the immediately previous year are eligible (e.g., 2024 and 2025 passers for the 2025–26 cycle). The student’s SSC GPA must meet the minimum requirement for the chosen academic group and target college.

  • Applicants must be Bangladeshi citizens.
  • Students with foreign board certificates must have results evaluated by the Dhaka Education Board before applying.

GPA Requirements by Group

Science3.50 – 5.00Top colleges often require GPA 4.50 or 5.00
Business Studies2.50 and aboveVaries widely by college
Humanities2.00 and aboveMost accessible group by GPA

These are national minimums. Individual colleges set their own higher cutoffs.

Humanities GroupSSC Humanities Students can apply for Humanities or Business Studies, but not Science.
Choice FlexibilityStudents can select multiple groups, shifts (morning, day, evening), or versions (Bangla, English) within the same college during application.

Always verify group change rules in the official circular for your admission year.

College Selection Tips

Selecting the right college is just as important as getting admitted. Your college choice list is very important. Most students make mistakes here. So plan it before opening the form. Make a simple list first. Write each college name. Add its EIIN number. Also write the location (district/upazila). This helps you avoid wrong selection. Many college names look similar.

You must choose at least 5 colleges. You can choose up to 10 colleges. Here is how to choose wisely.

Check the group carefully. Make sure the college offers your group. (Science / Business Studies / Humanities) Also check shift and version.

Important: If a college has two shifts (Morning and Day) and you select both, it will count as two choices.

Online Application Guide (How to apply)

What You Need Before Starting

Step-by-Step Application Process

If the application is successfully submitted, the applicant will receive a confirmation SMS on the mobile phone of the contact number provided and it will contain a security code. This Security Code should be stored with confidentiality and caution and used later for application revision and admission-related work. You can download and print the form along with the information of his applications.

How to Pay the Application Fee

The application fee (student selection fee) is a small non-refundable fee required to activate your XI Class admission application. Without paying this fee, your application will not be processed by DSHE. The fee is typically in the range of 150 to 220 Taka and is announced in the official circular each year.

You must confirm the college by paying the board fee of 335 taka. If the college does not confirm, the college selection will be cancelled. After the 1st round, two rounds of admission applications will be accepted and the admission results will be published.

Merit List: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Phase Results

The merit list is the official allocation of students to colleges based on GPA, subject eligibility, and preference order. When DSHE publishes a phase result, students who have been assigned a college appear on that phase’s merit list.

1st Phase

The first and largest allocation of seats across all participating colleges. The majority of seats are filled in the first phase. Students with higher GPAs are prioritized. If selected, confirm your seat within 2–3 days. If not selected, no action is required — you are automatically entered into phase 2.

What to do if selected in phase 1
– Verify the college name and group allocation on screen
– Confirm your seat within the deadline by paying the student selection fee (see confirmation process below)
– If you are happy with the college, confirm and you may choose to opt out of further migration.

2nd Phase

The second allocation, which includes seats that became available from phase 1 non-confirmations and any newly available seats. The 2nd phase also processes migration requests.

Who gets selected: Students who were not selected in phase 1 and students who confirmed a lower-preference college in phase 1 but may now be eligible for a higher-preference college through migration.

3rd Phase

The final phase of merit-based allocation. This phase fills the last remaining seats across all colleges. After phase 3, students still unselected may apply directly to colleges with remaining seats. Some colleges conduct direct enrollment for remaining vacancies.

What to do if selected in phase 3
– Confirm your seat within the deadline — this is your last chance for automatic merit-based allocation
– Do not skip or delay the confirmation

What to do if not selected in phase 3:
– Directly contact colleges with remaining available seats
– Some colleges conduct their own direct enrollment after phase 3 for any remaining vacancies.

How to Confirm Your Seat After Selection

After being selected in any phase, you must confirm your seat by paying the **student selection fee** within the specified window (usually 2 to 3 days). This is done via Teletalk SMS, using the same basic process as the application fee payment:

1. Send: `CAD <space> YES <space> [Confirmation PIN]` to 16222
2. Or use the online portal to confirm

The PIN for confirmation is sent to your registered mobile number when your result is published.

**Never miss the confirmation deadline.** Unconfirmed seats are released to the next phase. If you miss the window, you lose your seat and must wait for the next phase or explore direct admission options.

Admission Fee Payment

The admission fee is the final fee paid to your assigned college after seat confirmation. It is separate from the application fee and formally enrolls you as an HSC student. It includes session fees, library fees, development charges, and other college-specific charges.

Fee amounts vary by college — government colleges charge less (often a few hundred taka) while non-government colleges may charge several thousand taka. The exact amount is published on the admission portal and in the college’s own admission notice.

CategoryAdmission Fee (BDT)
Metropolitan MPO CollegesUp to 5,000
Partial MPO / Non-MPO (Bangla Medium)Up to 9,000
English Medium CollegesUp to 10,000
District Sadar Colleges2,000
Upazila Colleges1,000
Session FeesUp to 3,000

Migration Process in XI Class Admission

Migration is the automatic upgrade of a confirmed student from a lower-preference college to a higher-preference college when a seat opens up there in a later phase.

Example: You confirmed College 5 in phase 1. In phase 2, a seat opens at College 2 (which you preferred more). The system automatically moves you to College 2. That move is called migration.

How Migration Works

Migration is largely automatic — you do not usually need to apply for it separately. The DSHE system manages it in the background during each phase transition.

Here is the step-by-step process:

  1. After phase 1 confirmation closes, some seats remain vacant.
  2. DSHE reviews students confirmed at lower-preference colleges who may be eligible for vacancies at higher-preference colleges.
  3. Eligible students are automatically migrated up in the phase 2 result.
  4. The migrated student must confirm the new allocation within the phase 2 deadline.
  5. The same process repeats in phase 3.

Who Is Eligible for Migration?

  • You confirmed a seat at a lower-preference college in a previous phase
  • A seat opened at a college you ranked higher in your preference list
  • Your GPA meets that higher college’s requirements

What Happens to Your Old Seat?

When you are migrated, your previous seat is automatically cancelled. You do not need to formally withdraw. Your new college becomes your confirmed institution.

Warning: If you receive a migration to a better college and do not confirm within the deadline, you may lose both the old and the new seat. Always check results after every phase and act immediately.

Can I apply to the Science group if I studied Commerce in SSC?

No. Commerce and Humanities SSC students are not eligible for the Science group at the HSC level. SSC Science students can apply to any group (Science, Commerce, or Humanities).

How many colleges can I select in the application?

You can select up to 10 colleges in order of preference. It is strongly recommended that you use all 10 slots with a mix of aspirational, suitable, and backup colleges.

What is the application fee for XI Class admission?

The fee is typically 220 Taka. The exact amount is specified in the official DSHE circular each year. It is paid via Teletalk SMS or approved mobile banking apps and is non-refundable.

What happens if I am not selected in the 1st phase?

Nothing bad — you are automatically considered for the 2nd phase. You do not need to reapply or take any special action. Just check the phase 2 result when it is published and confirm if you are allocated a college.

Can I change my college after paying the admission fee?

Generally, once the final admission fee is paid and enrollment is complete, college changes are not permitted through the official system. This is why it is important to carefully evaluate your options before confirming, especially during the migration phase.
